Just like Michael Jackson's legions of die-hard fans, stars are also sounding off about the guilty verdict for former Jackson doctor Conrad Murray.

Shortly after the announcement Monday afternoon (November 7), the blogosphere was flooded with celebrity opinions, from Nicki Minaj, Ryan Seacrest, sister LaToya Jackson and more.

"People are cheering but there really are no winners here," Minaj tweeted. "This has been an utter tragedy from beginning to end. #RIPMichaelJackson."

Seacrest questioned how much time Murray will actually serve behind bars, writing, "Big question is will conrad murray serve time? Judge has 20 days to sentence him, and can give him up to 4 years in prison."

MJ producer and collaborator Darkchild was content with the news, tweeting,"#GUILTY Justice has been served but we still lost a great man, great father, greatest entertainer, and a great friend of mine! R.I.P MJ."

"VICTORY!!!!!! Michael I love you and I will continue to fight until ALL are brought to justice! Thank you EVERYONE for your love and support! It will ALWAYS be appreciated!" sister Latoya Jackson wrote on her Twitter, with the entire family also releasing a joint statement.

Piers Morgan described Murray's behavior as "unethical for a doctor." "#ConradMurray didn't deliberately kill #MichaelJackson, but his negligent actions allowed the death to occur," he wrote on Twitter.

Tyrese sent his wishes to the Jackson family, hoping they found closure in the ruling. "MICHAEL JACKSON YOU WILL FOREVER BE MISSED BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN... REST IN HEAVEN!! REST IN HEAVEN!! I hope the family has closure!! RIH!" he tweeted.

While some celebs, like ?uestlove of the Roots, had mixed feelings about the verdict ("Guilty. now what?" he wrote), Bravo star Patti Stanger rejoiced in the news: "The karma kat got Conrad Murray...guilty! Greed is never worth a person's life. X0," she tweeted.

MTV News will be covering the Conrad Murray case live. Go to MTVNews.com for breaking news, reactions and analysis from Los Angeles or tune to MTV for the latest updates.

Celebrate the life and legacy of Michael Jackson tonight at 9 p.m ET/PT when VH1 presents the World Broadcast premiere of "Michael Jackson's This Is It."

U2's Iconic Achtung Baby: 20 Years Later

To mark the anniversary of the album that changed U2 forever, MTV News spoke to the man who wrote the book on the band's once heady times.
By James Montgomery

Twenty years ago, U2 — slightly removed from the double-barrel success of The Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum — were a band in crisis. Sure, they were arguably the biggest rock act on the planet, but, for the first time in their career, they had felt the sting of critical backlash: Many felt Hum's accompanying documentary, which followed the band across America, was grandiose and self-righteous (even its director would later call it "pretentious"), and the group couldn't help but wonder if perhaps the critics were right.

Had U2 become too big? Had their fascination with all things American (the songs of Johnny Cash, B.B. King and Bob Dylan, the spiritualism of gospel choirs, the sanctity of Sun Studios and Graceland) led them too far from their roots? Were Bono's sociopolitical viewpoints detracting from the power of the band? And, really, after a decade spent trying to conquer the world — and succeeding — what did U2 really have left to accomplish?

They took all those questions (and more) to Berlin, where they hoped to be inspired by the German Reunification and the ghosts of David Bowie and Iggy Pop, both of whom had rediscovered and reinvented themselves there. But, as you'd probably expect, things didn't go according to plan. The sessions bore little fruit as U2 struggled to redefine the group and clear divisions began to develop among bandmembers that had always considered themselves friends first. There was talk of quitting altogether; that rather than continue to fracture, perhaps it was time to call it a day.

Thankfully, they didn't. In a way, those Berlin sessions not only made U2 stronger, but they made them realize that things had to change. Gone were the grandiose gestures and bombastic ballads, replaced instead with an entirely new sound: one that embraced the burgeoning club scene of Europe, the streaked sonics of alt-rock, the artful artifice of Bowie and the adventurous explorations of producer Brian Eno. U2 had redefined what it meant to be a rock band in the 1990s, and they did it all with one marvelous album, Achtung Baby, which marks its 20th anniversary on Saturday.

So in celebration of the album that not only forged new territory, but launched the second phase of U2's epic career, MTV News spoke to the man who was there to witness it all, author and critic Bill Flanagan. He wrote what is arguably the definitive book on the band's Achtung era, "U2: At the End of the World," a sprawling, dense thing that followed them from the recording studio to the stage, on their massive, hugely influential Zoo TV Tour, and beyond. And today, he's looking back on the album that changed everything. Starting, of course, at the beginning.

"Rattle and Hum was a hugely successful album, spun off a bunch of hit singles," Flanagan said. "You couldn't have asked for more from it, commercially, but there was a critical backlash, which probably had as much to do with the movie as anything. Critics were saying, 'Wait a minute, when did these guys become the prophets of rock and roll, telling Americans about Johnny Cash and B.B. King and Bob Dylan?' And any other band in that circumstance ... would go, 'Who cares about the critics, what do they know?' But one of the things that's unusual about U2 is that they sort of took the criticism to heart, and thought, 'Actually, they may have a point.'

"When they saw how [the film] looked, they felt it was a dead end. ... And they didn't want to be trapped; they didn't want be stuck wearing cowboy hats and waving a white flag up and down the stage forever," he continued. "It was a huge risk because, look, when you'd become as big as they had become after The Joshua Tree, everybody tells you 'Don't mess with it.' Nobody says, 'What a good idea, you're going to change your sound, change the way you look.' "

Still, undaunted, U2 headed to Berlin's Hansa Studios, the same place Bowie had recorded Low and Heroes, and where Iggy made The Idiot. And it was there where they split into two distinct camps: those who wanted to try something new, and those who argued there was no point in messing with success.

"There was this great argument about what it meant to reinvent themselves. Bono and Edge were very dedicated to the theory that they had to do something that was dramatically different, and [drummer] Larry [Mullen] and [bassist] Adam [Clayton] weren't totally buying it," Flanagan said. "It became really tense. They didn't feel like they were getting the work done, they just felt like they weren't coming up with good stuff, and they talked about maybe throwing in the towel; that maybe they should go out on top and not become one of those bands that just becomes a worse and worse version of itself."

There were also external pressures, namely from the band's significant others, who, having watched them win over the world, wanted nothing more than them to come home.

"There was a lot on the line with the band, and there was a lot on the line with their families. They'd put a lot of things on hold with their families while they were trying to conquer the world in the '80s," Flanagan said. "They were wealthy, so there was a real question from the wives of, like, 'Well, OK, now you've done what you wanted to do, and now you're going to stay home.' So that was part of the pressure that was on them, like, 'What's the reason?' When you started doing something when you were 15 or 16, and now you're 30 ... you're starting to have kids ... things change."

Of course, we all know how things turned out. After additional sessions in Dublin, U2 had gone through the fire and emerged with Achtung Baby, a delightfully odd thing that was a very big risk, to say the very least. ("People were taken aback by it," Flanagan said. "They thought they had lost their minds.") But for all the sonic adventurousness of tracks like "Zoo Station" or "The Fly," there was a definite heart to the lyrics ... one that was very much inspired by Bono's own domestic dilemmas.

"The lyrics were actually, for the most part, actually quite confessional, even if they were disguised. It's about relationships, marriage, the lure of freedom versus the responsibilities of domesticity," Flanagan explained. "And that's what gives the album its emotional weight. ... And the sound of the album, the beats, the rhythmic improvisations they did and the sonics, which I think, really, is where Edge and Eno and Lilywhite and Flood, the engineer, really got to have some fun. People didn't know what to make of the album."

And looking back 20 years later, Flanagan said that all the head-scratching surrounding Achtung Baby probably wasn't justified. Sure, it's a sonically amorphous listen and, thematically, it deals with weighty topics like sexuality and spirituality. Of course, it's a gaudy thing and, yes, it saw Bono playing characters like the Fly and MacPhisto. But at its core, it's also an album unlike any other; the kind huge bands don't have the balls to make these days. And because of all that, it's unquestionably real, and that authenticity makes it an all-time classic.

"The really great albums, like Revolver by the Beatles or Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan, just create their own sonic world ... and Achtung Baby does that," Flanagan said. "It doesn't sound like it's part of the Manchester thing, it doesn't sound like it's part of the Grunge thing, it doesn't sound like it's part of what Public Enemy and N.W.A were doing. It just sounds like it's Achtung Baby.

"And that's kind of the most important thing a record can do. That's why people still like Led Zeppelin and that's why people still like Pink Floyd; there's not really other stuff that does it. If you're in the mood for a Led Zeppelin record, you've got to put on a Led Zeppelin record. And I think if you are in the mood for Achtung Baby, there's no other album you can go to, that have that combination of vulnerability in the lyric and authority in the music and just tremendous fun in the production."

Justin Bieber, Scooter Braun Address 'Unfortunate' Paternity Suit

Pop star jokes that a better false allegation would have been: 'Justin Bieber went off to South America with this 27-year-old supermodel.'
By Jocelyn Vena

Justin Bieber stopped by New York radio station Z100 on Thursday morning (November 17) and addressed a number of subjects, from his favorite candy (Swedish Fish) to his early crush on Selena Gomez to his Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe. But there was one topic he couldn't avoid: the paternity suit.

"Right now, I'm focusing on my album and the music and the [Pencils of Promise] charity we're doing, and just being positive because Christmastime is a time for joy and happiness, so that's what I'm thinking," Bieber told Elvis Duran and crew. "And as far as the whole baby situation, it's unfortunate that it had to happen like that. People make false accusations, but things happen in this industry and you have to keep your head high and be positive."

When asked if he wondered why he was the target of Mariah Yeater's allegations, he joked, "If it was up to me, it would have been a better story like, 'Justin Bieber went off to South America with this 27-year-old supermodel.' That would have been awesome.

"They say that any press is good press — I do not believe that's true," the pop star added. "If you're in the spotlight, then people are looking at you to be a role model, and if you're doing bad things to be getting press, I think that's really, really sad."

While Bieber was diplomatic about his response, his manager, Scooter Braun, had stronger words for Yeater and her legal team. "Look, I don't usually talk in front of mics but the bottom line is they said they're in settlement talks with us, and the only thing I'm gonna say is they will never be in settlement talks with us," he said. "We will never settle with them. That's my little guy right there — I protect him — and they messed with the wrong crew.

"It's false and people should be held accountable when they run out and say this stuff," Braun continued. "And they have this lawyer running around saying, 'Well, we want everything to be held confidentially now.' But you don't get to go out there and badmouth a 17-year-old kid to the entire world then suddenly think it's going to stay confidential. We're not gonna go away quietly. I'm from around [the NYC area], and you know that people from around here don't like to be messed with."

Bieber also revealed what he wants his legacy to be: "[I want people to say], 'He was a good entertainer; a great entertainer,' more or less. I don't want to be second- or third-best, but I want to be the best."

Justin's visit to New York City won't end with Z100. He's also slated to make various radio and media appearances, including a gala held for the Pencils of Promise charity and a Make-A-Wish Foundation event on Friday, where he'll be honored for granting the most wishes in 2011.

'Hunger Games' Has 'Best Fans,' Josh Hutcherson Says

'I'm really excited for them to see it,' actor tells MTV News.
By Kara Warner

It's been an exciting couple of weeks for "Hunger Games" fans, what with new posters to analyze, star Josh Hutcherson talking about how he felt "so right" for the role and of course, the debut of the film's first full-length trailer.

And now we have more from our exclusive interview with Hutcherson, in which we discuss a certain boy on fire and how thankful he is for the "Hunger Games" fans.

MTV: What can you tell us about that costume in the arena?

Josh Hutcherson: The costumes in the arena are very practical, which they had to be, not only for the purpose of the characters but also for us as actors because sometimes it was 95 degrees in the forest, and you're running around and you want to make sure you're wearing the right clothes and the appropriate attire and the right kind of shoes and everything. So we made it very real.

MTV: What about the one that is on fire?

Hutcherson: The one that's on fire, I don't want to say anything about that yet, you'll have to wait for it. It's very cool, I promise you. It's very cool.

MTV: Have you been following any of the fan fervor surrounding the film?

Hutcherson: Obviously the fans are crazy about it, which I'm really excited for them to see it. But for me, I stay away from a lot of that stuff, just because I don't really look at it all that much. But I hear some things people are saying, and it's pretty cool. It's exciting to hear people are that interested in something you're doing, so it's a little nerve-racking, but I'm onboard. The fans for "The Hunger Games," they're die-hard. They're the best fans in the world so I'm really excited for them to see the movie.

Check out everything we've got on "The Hunger Games."

Justin Bieber Tourmate Weighs In On Paternity Suit

'It wouldn't even be possible for her to get backstage,' Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena

Justin Bieber recently told the "Today" show that it's impossible he fathered Mariah Yeater's baby, as claimed in a headline-making paternity suit. Why? The minute he finishes a show, he promptly makes his way from the stage to an awaiting car, so there's no time for backstage trysts.

Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta, Bieber's onetime tourmate, confirmed the teen star's story.

"It wouldn't even be possible for her to get backstage," he told MTV News on the red carpet at the Glamour Women of the Year event in New York on Monday. "The security is so crazy there, you can't get backstage. And even if you got backstage, first of all, he leaves the show as soon as he's offstage, which is pretty cool. He runs offstage, gets in a car and jets, because the whole city turns into chaos."

Before the My World Tour wrapped up last month, the band experienced that craziness firsthand, likening it to something straight out of the movies. "There's a really cool video of us online getting mobbed at the airport," Saporta recalled. "It's like zombie apocalypse; it's awesome."

Speaking of awesome, 2011 has been a pretty great year for Cobra Starship. Their infectious, Sabi-featuring track "You Make Me Feel" has been burning up radio, but that Bieber tour is pretty much the highlight of the year for Saporta.

"We were playing, like, 50,000-people stadiums," Saporta said of the South American jaunt. "It was insane, and I'm from South America too, so for me, it was especially satisfying. I gotta say, for being the most famous kid in the universe, he's remarkably well-adjusted, and ... there's like 75 people traveling with him. It feels like a family, and it was really nice to be a part of that family for a bit of time."

Pet Tags

Man, I'm so irritated.

I just received four pets tags that I ordered for Bev and Mary Margaret (two for Brooklyn and two for LA) and they're all messed up. Not only did they leave off the "Margaret" on Mary Margaret's tags, but the text isn't centered correctly and runs off the right side on all four of them. (The last letter of the address is cut in half.) The tags themselves are also ugly. The edges aren't smoothed out... they look like someone just cut them from a piece of sheet metal and called it a day.

So anyway, I got them this morning on my way to Starbucks (yesterday's mail), so while I was there, I started drafting a strongly-worded letter in my head, like what I was going to say to these people when I sent them back.

And then I saw it.

In tiny print on the bottom of the invoice it said, "Our handicapped employees appreciate your order."

So now I can't send them back. If I did I'd be a total asshole.

I'm just going to order new ones from someplace else. Any recommendations?

Michael Jackson's Family Reacts To Guilty Verdict

'Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served!' family says in a statement to TMZ.

Seventeen members of Michael Jackson's family — including his parents, brothers Jermaine and Randy and sister LaToya — were on hand Monday (November 7) in the Los Angeles courtroom when a guilty verdict was read in the involuntary manslaughter case against Jackson's former physician, Dr. Conrad Murray.

While the audible gasp heard when the verdict was read was reportedly that of Kathy Hilton — a close Jackson family friend and mom to Paris and Nicky Hilton — the family remained stoic during the proceedings and did not hold a formal press conference afterward.

Upon exiting the courthouse, Jackson's mother, Katherine, told local news cameras, "Justice was served. I want to thank the jury for doing the right thing," while brother Randy said he was "ecstatic," and Jermaine said the verdict felt "wonderful." Latoya, wearing a black and gold jacket reminiscent of something her late brother would wear, waved her arms at the crowd in celebration and also tweeted: "VICTORY."

TMZ reported that the family later released a statement, reading, "We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and we couldn't hold back tears of joy in the courtroom. Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served! We can't wait to go home and share this day with Michael's children."

Dr. Murray was found guilty on one count of involuntary manslaughter and faces up to four years in jail and the loss of his medical license. He is due to be sentenced November 29.

Britney Spears Concert Special: 3 Can't-Miss Moments

Get a sneak peek of the Femme Fatale special before it airs Saturday on Epix.
By Jocelyn Vena

Light your vanilla candles and snuggle under the covers: The Britney Spears concert special drops this weekend!

Filmed at the Toronto stop of her Femme Fatale Tour, the special — which airs Saturday on Epix at 8 p.m. ET/PT — puts every fan in the front row. Look out for cameos from Nicki Minaj and Sabi, killer dancing, beautifully designed costumes, elaborate stage setups and a set list that even the biggest Britney critic couldn't help but shake their groove thing to.

In a sea of can't-miss moments, there are definitely several standouts. Lucky for you, we've rounded them up!

Britney Singing "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know"
It's rare these days to see Britney Spears show her soft side, but she takes a break from the nonstop, fist-pumping music during the spectacle that is the Femme Fatale Tour and kicks it old-school, showing us she still has the heart and soul to bust out a power ballad.

The Short Films
These glossy, dark and incredibly fashionable cinematic clips follow the Femme Fatale herself as she gets into risky situations, being pursued by dangerous men with even more dangerous intentions. Of course, Spears isn't all that innocent herself, giving the boys a run for their money in the bad department. They don't call her the Femme Fatale for nothing.

The Lap Dance
Over the course of her tour, Britney has chosen one lucky guy for a very special dance, and the lucky guy at the Toronto tour stop can watch his dance on loop forever. Brit made that gentleman, named Alex, very happy when he was picked from a sea of devotees to get a private lap dance from Britney and her sexy backup dancers during "Leather and Lace."

The special hits DVD and Blu-ray on November 21. Backstreet Boy Howie D will join Spears on the Femme Fatale Tour before it wraps up December 10 in Puerto Rico.

What tour moments are you hoping are in the special? Let us know in the comments!

Captain America

Go see Captain America this weekend! Support our Colin!

I went to the premiere on Tuesday and it was the coolest thing ever. First, the movie is AMAZING and Chris Evans is a superstar. Second, there were so many damn people there it was insane. I have been to movie premieres in New York before and they were nothing like this. I mean, they closed down Hollywood Boulevard. I would've taken photos to show you, but the invite said to leave phones in the car. But here's a photo of me in my cool Captain America 3D glasses:

(Sit down, stop jumping around, it's an awesome picture, I know. And the quality is amazing. It's not grainy or reddish... it's perfect.) (No, it's not.)

Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him

'I have not been approached to fill in for Robert Plant on the Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be,' singer says.
By Chris Harris

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has spoken out for the first time about rumors that he's been asked to fill in for Robert Plant on a proposed Led Zeppelin reunion tour. The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham.

Cornell has been mentioned — along with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, White Stripes mastermind Jack White and Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy — as a potential Plant fill-in. Plant has already said that he wouldn't take part in the tour.

"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour."

Cornell's denial comes just a day after Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford confirmed reports that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert."

Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played a single reunion set last year at London's O2 Arena. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant.

According to Snider, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "

"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."

In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."

But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."

Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming Timbaland-produced solo LP, Scream, will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider Scream something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.

"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] Euphoria Morning, my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.

"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."

'The Sitter' Exclusive Clip Premiere Q&A Live Stream Update

Re-visit Jonah Hill's Best MTV moments while you wait
By MTV News Staff

We know you are as excited as we are to watch Jonah Hill introduce an exclusive clip from his new R-rated comedy "The Sitter," followed by a lengthy live sit-down interview with the man himself, but unfortunately due to some technical difficulties, the stream is delayed. Don't worry, we're doing everything possible to get back to the big event, in which Hill will talk all about his highly-anticipated film with MTV News' Josh Horowitz.

Before we get to the premiere of the clip and our chat with the funnman, here are a few primers to check out. First, take a walk down memory lane with one of our first encounters with Hill on the set of his first movie, "Accepted," which had Hill working alongside his real-life buddy Justin Long. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1538615/comics-justin-long-jonah-hill-get-accepted.jhtml

"You need one guy who weighs a little bit more than the other guy," Justin Long joked at the time of what made them a dynamic comedic duo. "I think that's the common thread."

"I wouldn't say we're the next Farley and Spade," cautioned Jonah Hill, Long's roommate at the time. "I would say we're the next Rosie O'Donnell and Madonna."

Hill of course went on to star in a slew of hit comedies like "Knocked Up," "Superbad" and "Funny People," our interviews about which you can revisit here: http://www.mtv.com/videos/movies/163286/the-next-knocked-up-8212-or-fast-times.jhtml#id=1564974.

Justin Bieber Addresses Paternity Suit On 'Today'

'I know I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim,' Bieber says.
By Jocelyn Vena

As more details surface about the paternity suit filed by 20-year-old Mariah Yeater against Justin Bieber, the pop singer is addressing the allegations head on.

Earlier this week, Bieber released a statement saying, "it's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims," and tweeted, "so I'm going to ignore the rumors ... and focus on what is real. An opportunity to help by doing what i love. Judge me on the music! Love y'all!"

When he stopped by the "Today" show on Friday morning (November 4) to promote his latest album, Under The Mistletoe, Bieber also spoke candidly about Yeater's claims. "I'd just like to say basically that none of those allegations are true," he told Matt Lauer. "I know I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim."

See How Top Beliebers Are Supporting Justin

Yeater claims she had unprotected sex with Bieber a year ago in a backstage area at one of the singer's concerts and that her 3-month-old baby is his. According to an upcoming issue of Star magazine, "in a hand-signed affidavit, sworn under the penalty of perjury, Yeater told a California court that Bieber propositioned her on October 25 of last year, when she was 19. The pair had a sexual tryst after his concert and backstage at L.A.'s Staples Center, it's alleged in court papers."

Bieber explained on "Today" that the logistics of her claim don't fit with his hectic schedule. "I think it's crazy because every night after the show, I've gone right from the stage right to my car," he explained. "So it's crazy that some people want to make up some false allegations, but to set the record straight, none of it is true. Never met the woman."

While the case is ongoing, Bieber is focusing on the positive, which includes his charity work. "Like I said before, there's going to be good and going to be bad about this business and I want to focus on what's real, like my fans are real, the charity work that I'm doing with this album is real and this is real," he said speaking about all the fans that showed up at Rockefeller Plaza to catch a glimpse of the teen star. "I do it for these guys and I'm really happy to be here in New York and it's been fun."

Dierks Bentley: "Fatherhood Changes Your Life"

The arrival of his second daughter Jordan late last year meant that country star Dierks Bentley was definitely outnumbered on the home front - not that he's complaining. "We're really happy with what we've got," says Dierks, who is also dad to 3-year-old Evie with his wife Cassidy. In a new interview with Parade.com, the singer talks about his family, his music and his work with Wounded Warriors, which aids America's veterans.

On being inspired by fatherhood: "It changes your life and as a songwriter it feeds into your music, though I don't try to write songs like that. Some songs are very specific, but other songs I try so that they can be heard and interpreted in different ways. There are songs on this record that I wrote with my daughter in mind, but they could be a love song, could be a spiritual song, all depends on how you listen to it."

Michael Jackson Doctor's Trial: A Timeline

Prosecutors took their time bringing Conrad Murray to trial for involuntary manslaughter.
By Gil Kaufman

It's hard to believe that nearly 2 1/2 years have passed since Michael Jackson's death. But, because the wheels of justice grind especially slowly when it comes to celebrity trials, we are just now on the cusp of a verdict in the involuntary manslaughter case of Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray.

Murray, the Texas cardiologist handpicked by Jackson to be his personal physician in the lead-up to the pop icon's 2009 This Is It comeback shows, spent three weeks listening to prosecutors disparage his treatment of Jackson in the hours before the singer's death. But his path to infamy began years before that fateful June 25, 2009, morning when he called Jackson's assistant in a panic.

The pair first met in 2006, when Jackson was living in Las Vegas — where Murray has a clinic — and called the doctor seeking treatment for one of his children. They became friendly, and Jackson turned to Murray in early 2009 when he was attempting to get into fighting shape to launch his first major concert series in more than a decade. Jackson, then 50, agreed to pay Murray $150,000 a month to serve as his personal physician before and during the 50-date engagement at the O2 arena in London.

Here's a timeline of Murray's trial:

One week before Jackson's death: Murray and members of the AEG Live team promoting the concert meet to discuss Jackson's fitness for the shows, and Murray allegedly says the singer is ready and healthy.

June 24, 2009: Jackson, who reportedly suffered from insomnia, returns from a rehearsal late at night and attempts to fall asleep.

June 25, 2009: Unable to sleep, Jackson asks Murray to give him a series of doses of the surgical anesthetic propofol and other sedatives in order to get to sleep. After hours of fitful sleep, Jackson goes into cardiac arrest, and Murray scrambles to try to save his client's life, waiting more than 30 minutes to call 911.

June 27, 2009: Murray and his lawyer voluntarily speak to police investigators for more than two hours and lay out the events of the morning Jackson died. This interview will become one of the key pieces of evidence in the prosecution's case.

July 17, 2009: Los Angeles District Attorney's office announces it is treating Jackson's death as a homicide.

July 23, 2009: Investigators file for a search warrant for Murray's property.

July 29, 2009 : Los Angeles police and DEA agents cart away several plastic bins and manila envelopes of evidence from Murray's home in Las Vegas.

November 20, 2009: Search-warrant records show that investigators found receipts in Murray's Las Vegas clinic for purchases of propofol in May 2009.

January 7, 2010: Los Angeles coroner's office announces that Jackson's official cause of death is "acute propofol intoxication" and his death is ruled a homicide. The report also shows a number of other sedatives in Jackson's system at the time of his death.

February 8, 2010: Murray pleads not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges and is released on $75,000 bail after turning himself in to authorities.

June 14, 2010: A judge denies a request from the California Medical Board to strip Murray of his California medical license.

November 30, 2010: Michael's father, Joseph, refiles his wrongful-death lawsuit against Murray and the Las Vegas pharmacy that sold the physician propofol.

January 25, 2011: Murray pleads not guilty to a single charge of involuntary manslaughter and his trial date is set for March 28.

March 24, 2011: Jury selection in the trial begins with a pool of more than 300 potential jurors.

April 29, 2011: The trial is delayed until September at the request of Murray's legal team, citing more time needed to line up defense experts.

September 23, 2011: The jury for the trial is seated.

September 27-30, 2011: The trial begins with opening statements that include a recording from Murray's cell phone in which Jackson's voice is slurred and lethargic. The first four days of testimony detail the chaotic scene after Jackson's death, a security guard describing Murray's request to put vials of propofol in a bag and testimony from two emergency room technicians about what Murray told them when Jackson arrived at UCLA hospital.

October 3-7, 2011: ER doctors explain that Murray never told them he'd administered propofol to Jackson and a string of Murray's former and current girlfriends testify about the calls the doctor made to them in the hours and minutes before and after Jackson's death. The jury hears more of the Jackson recording, including his desire to build a children's hospital and the fateful recording of Murray's two-hour talk with investigators.

October 10-12, 2011: Jurors hear from medical experts who claim Murray was not prepared to give proper care to Jackson and did not follow protocol when his patient went into distress.

October 21, 2011: The prosecution wraps up its case with testimony from propofol expert Dr. Steven Shafer, who lays out 17 mistakes he believes Murray made in his care for Jackson.

October 24-28, 2011: Murray's defense team calls witnesses to discuss the 911 call placed by the doctor and LAPD detectives to refute statements made by Jackson's bodyguard about Murray allegedly hiding evidence.

October 31-November 1, 2011: Murray's defense team continues questioning its final expert, propofol expert Dr. Paul White, who suggested that Jackson had injected himself with the drug while the doctor was not in the room. White admitted that Murray's medical care for Jackson was out of the ordinary.

November 3, 2011: Closing arguments begin.

Stick with MTV News for full coverage of the Michael Jackson involuntary manslaughter trial, through the verdict and beyond.
